Lancaster Car Insurance / Lancaster Classic Car Insurance
Lancaster Insurance Services Ltd came into being in the year 1984 as the insurance wing for the MG Owners Club. It was only in 1989 that the company began to realize that there is a huge demand for collectable cars in the market which are used as second cars by the owners. These are the cars which are mainly laid up for restoration. These are known as the classic cars and their demand is ever growing in the market. That was when the company decided to set up a new insurance wing called MG insurance division. Later this division was renamed as Lancaster Car Insurance Services Ltd.
Since then, Lancaster's client base has been increasing continuously and the company made full use of this opportunity to promote different kinds of insurance services. By 1996 the company was also selling insurances for modern cars, travel, buildings and contents. In 2000, the company launched its first quick quote system online. This was to make an easy path for the classic car owners to generate their quotes and get fully covered in a matter of minutes.
Up till June 2004, the company was selling insurance plans only to the general public. Then they began to offer their classic car insurance policies to the leading insurance brokers of UK. With this, the brokers who were unable to provide these niche insurances to their clients before began profiting from the cheaper premiums and better benefits. Some of the insurance policies sold by Lancaster Insurance Services for its cars include introductory discount, limited mileage discount, breakdown recovery, courtesy car, personal effects coverage, classic car club member discount and more.
